Community-led resilience against disaster

ASLO has a strong and proven track record in community-based disaster risk reduction and WASH programming. The organization has trained more than 3,700 community members in disaster risk management, established 26 Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) committees across high-risk villages, built 80 emergency response committees at district and provincial levels, and constructed protective infrastructure including check dams and mitigation walls in disaster-prone communities.

ASLO has delivered emergency WASH and shelter responses in Takhar, Badakhshan, and other conflict- and disaster-affected provinces. This combination of community-level DRR structures, emergency mobilization capacity, and nationwide field presence positions ASLO as a reliable partner for both rapid-onset emergency WASH response and sustained development-phase programming.
